Sure, I can write 2,000 words a day. All it has to be is junk anyway as the only thing that matters during Na No is the word count. How hard can it be, just ignore the inner critic and plug out your 50,000 words. It's just that easy...right?

Well, that is very debatable, especially now on the first day at nearly five P.M. with a grand total of 700 words written so far. I had this great ambition to hit my first 5,000 word day...

It is now two hours later, and after dropping this entry (in a comical realization that instead of writing here I could be working on my novel) I have since finished the minimum of 2,000 words a day I set for myself this month. My brain is now quite fried, and it just isn't in the cards for me to pull another 3,000 out of my head.

I could blame it on my own sloth, or the inner critic that I can't shut up long enough to get my story onto paper before looking for errors.Hell I can even blame it on my mother's friend Molly coming over this afternoon for a lunch/sewing date at my house.

But in the end, no matter how much I huff and puff, the word count will stay the same. I guess all that matters is that I tried, and I got enough done to stay in the game. Other than that, nothing much in the way of excitement happened.

I have nothing now but to look forward to kicking the ass of tomorrows word count, and boy am I looking forward to that.
